This project focuses on developing a dynamic shift management application to replace the inflexible, month-in-advance scheduling system of an organisation. The new system empowers employees to book, release, or exchange shifts within predefined guidelines.

It incorporates AI to monitor scheduling patterns and anomalies, informing administration of potential issues. Integration with the local Horizon system allows comprehensive tracking of work hours, leaves, and vacation planning, facilitating accurate salary calculations. The application also includes customisable internal communication tools.

In today's fast-paced world, maintaining a healthy lifestyle can be challenging due to busy schedules and limited access to personalized health guidance. Many individuals struggle with tracking their calorie intake, monitoring physical activities, and managing overall wellness effectively. AppLine addresses these challenges by providing a unified platform that simplifies health tracking and offers actionable insights to foster healthier living.

Problem Definition

The administration's requirement to prepare schedules one month in advance resulted in rigidity and inefficiency. Changes in staffing needs or employee availability were difficult to accommodate, leading to operational challenges and decreased morale.

Methodology

The project employed a collaborative approach, gathering input from both administration and employees to understand their needs. An iterative development process was used, with regular testing phases to ensure functionality and usability. AI algorithms were implemented to analyse data and provide predictive insights.

Shift Management":

  • Time Slot Creation:: Administration defines required staffing levels for specific times.
  • Employee Booking: Employees can book available slots once they are open.
  • Shift Release/Exchange: Up to 48 hours before a shift, employees can release or exchange slots.
  • Administrative Intervention: If a slot remains unfilled 24 hours prior, the system alerts administrators to assign the shift based on predefined criteria.
